Netflix’s live-action “Resident Evil” series has been cancelled after just one season on the streamer.
The eight-episode run, which adapted the celebrated Capcom video game franchise, premiered on July 14th to poor reviews. Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nunez and Lance Reddick starred.
The show was originally ordered to series at Netflix in 2020 and follows in the wake of the film “Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” which made a disappointing $42 million off a $25 million budget.
The game series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, whilst the films have hauled in over $1.2 billion worldwide.
