Gwyneth Paltrow is coming to television with a scripted series.
Paltrow will star in A24’s “The Apology,” a drama series which has just been handed a two-season order by Netflix.
“Another Round” and “The Hunt” director Thomas Vinterberg will direct and executive produce the series, which hails from creator/showrunner Joe Murtagh.
The story begins when Evelyn and Caleb Amspoker’s son was murdered 18 years ago in a cold case that gripped the nation.
When a stranger suddenly appears and confesses, justice finally seems possible – until they learn the killer may get off with a reduced sentence. Faced with that unbearable truth, Evelyn and Caleb decide to take matters into their own hands.
Paltrow and Joe Hipps will also executive produce. The series was picked up before the exit of multiple TV executives at Netflix late last week.
A24’s TV series “Crystal Lake” launched last week on Peacock.
