VOTD: Oscars Tribute To James Bond 60th

Broccoli On Bond Casting Fukunaga Return
EON & Universal Pictures

The official James Bond account has released the 60th anniversary celebration reel for the 007 franchise, the two-minute clip having just aired last night during the Oscars ceremony.

All six actors to have played Bond in the official films – Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig – score time in the reel which, though still leaning towards Craig’s run the most, doesn’t short change the other actors with plenty of footage from across the twenty-five film run from the original “Dr. No” through to last year’s “No Time to Die”.

During the ceremony, the clip was introduced by three sports legends – skateboarder Tony Hawk, surfer Kelly Slater and snowboarder Shaun White – as opposed to some of the stars of the franchise. It also comes hot on the heels of the recent announcement of an Amazon competition series with a 007-theme currently being in the works.
