Focus Features, Peacock, and Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions have set a Labor Day weekend release for the mockumentary feature “Honk For Jesus. Save Your Soul” which hails from Daniel Kaluuya’s 59% Productions.
Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown star in this feature adaptation of the 2018 short film. The story follows an Atlanta-based Southern Baptist pastor and his wife who aim to rebuild their congregation after a scandal effectively closes their megachurch.
The couple hire a documentary crew to chronicle their comeback in the competitive business of corporatized Christianity. Nicole Beharie and Conphidance co-star as rival church leaders.
Writer-director Adamma Ebo and producer Adanne Ebo make their feature film debut on the feature which premiered at Sundance. The film will reportedly be released in theaters and on Peacock day-and-date on Friday, September 2nd.
