AMC Networks has set an April 10th premiere date for the first of two planned seasons of the thriller TV series “61st Street”. In addition, the first trailer has been released for the series which will launch on both AMC and the AMC+ service.

The story follows Moses Johnson (Doctor Who’s Tosin Cole), a Black high school athlete who is arrested for supposedly being involved in a deadly drug bust that threatens to unravel the corrupt Chicago justice system and police department’s code of silence.

Courtney B. Vance plays Franklin Roberts, Johnson’s lawyer in the series which hails from executive producers Michael B. Jordan and Alana Mayo. Peter Moffat wrote the first and last episodes of the first season

Aunjanue Ellis, Mark O’Brien, Bentley Green, Jerod Haynes, Vance, Julian Parker, Michael Oilar, Ben Martin, Andrene Ward-Hammond, David Parkes, Rebecca Spence, Jon Michael Hill, Jayson Lee, Kamal Angelo Bolden, and Patrick Mulvey co-star.
