Filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have come onboard to co-direct a majority of the episodes for the upcoming second season of Marvel Studios’ “Loki”.
Tom Hiddleston and Michael Waldron, the latter who wrote and served as showrunner in the first season, will executive produce the second season. Eric Martin will pen all six episodes.
Benson and Moorhead are best known for their smart, twisty sci-fi indie films like “Synchronic,” “The Endless,” “Spring” and “Resolution”. The pair directed a couple of episodes of “Moon Knight” and things reportedly went so smoothly Marvel wanted them on other projects ASAP – the second season of “Loki” quickly came into play. Kate Herron served as director of the first season.
“Loki” is the first Marvel series to score a second season. Hiddleston is the only one officially set to return at present, but actor Owen Wilson indicated earlier this week he’s also coming back.
