One of HBO’s most anticipated series is the adaptation of 2013’s acclaimed video game “The Last of Us”.

The premium network has yet to set a premiere date for the series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey and which has been shooting since July last year.

There was hope the series might debut this Fall, but HBO and HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys told Deadline today that such a date is not happening:

“It’s not going to air in 2022, they are still shooting in Canada. I imagine you will see it in 23. I have seen some early episodes and I’m very excited. Craig [Mazin] did Chernobyl for us, he is a fantastic writer and director. What I’ve seen looks amazing so I’m excited for it but it will not be in 22.”

That was one of several updates Bloys provided on HBO projects. From his quotes, no real movement has happened on a “Mare of Easttown” sequel but a second season of “And Just Like That” and something more in the “True Detective” world is potentially in the cards.

As for “Game of Thrones,” there has been no real advancements on anything there with several projects still in the development phase. He did confirm that “House of the Dragon” is coming to HBO this year.
