Electronic Arts’ new EA Play Live event on July 22nd is reportedly announcing a new game that will revive an established franchise of theirs.
GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grubb revealed the news with the game to be developed by Motive Studios (“Star Wars: Battlefront II,” “Star Wars: Squadrons”). Earlier he teased the game saying: “we’re going to see it… if we’re not dead first.”
The use of the word ‘dead’ there has kicked off speculation that the title will be a new “Dead Space” game – either a fourth or a reboot. Three games in the series were made by developer Visceral Games, the third arriving in 2013 and it remains one of EA’s most notable single-player driven franchises.
Visceral Games was shut down in 2017, abandoning plans for a fourth “Dead Space” with the IP returning to EA.
