Apple Commits To Scott’s Napoleon Film

Apple Studios has reportedly committed to finance and produce Ridley Scott’s Napoleon Bonaparte epic feature “Kitbag” at Scott Free.

Oscar-winner Joaquin Phoenix plays the French emperor and military leader with shooting to begin in early 2022 in the UK.

David Scarpa (“All The Money in the World”) penned the script for the film looking at the war visionary’s swift and ruthless climb to power, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife, Josephine.

Scott and Kevin Walsh will produce. Scott most recently wrapped “The Last Duel” for 20th Century Studios and begins shooting “Gucci” in Italy in March. That film stars Lady Gaga, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Adam Driver, Jared Leto and Jeremy Irons. “Kitbag” will then follow that.
