The Human Voice
A set photo has gone online showing off filmmaker Pedro Almodovar and actress Tilda Swinton at work in Madrid on the first day of shooting of a short film adaptation of Jean Cocteau’s “The Human Voice”.

The short marks Almodovar’s first English-language production. The original play follows a woman’s final phone call with her lover of five years, a lover who is scheduled to marry another woman the following day. Dune
Actress Rebecca Ferguson has seemingly confirmed a report last month that reshoots on Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” film adaptation are set to take place in Hungary in August. Ferguson took to Instagram yesterday and said “@dunemovie headed back to Budapest soon:ish for some additional shots. Can’t wait to see everyone and get back under that hood.” Ferguson will likely segue from those reshoots into the resumption of shooting on the next two “Mission: Impossible” films. Home Alone
Kenan Thompson, Ally Maki and Chris Parnell have all joined the upcoming “Home Alone” reboot at Disney+. They join a cast that includes Archie Yates, Rob Delaney, Aisling Bea, Pete Holmes, Mikey Day and Ellie Kemper. Dan Mazer helms the new film about a young boy (Yates) at war with a couple (Kemper, Delaney) over a stolen figurine. The production has been on pause since the start of the pandemic. Chasing Agent Freegard
James Norton (“Grantchester,” “McMafia”) will play Robert Hendy-Freegard, a man who masqueraded as an MI5 agent and manipulated and threatened multiple people into going underground for fear of assassination, in the true story-inspired thriller “Chasing Agent Freegard”. “The Salisbury Poisonings” creators Adam Patterson and Declan Lawn are attached to direct the project which is penned by “Captain Phillips” co-producer Michael Bronner. True Spirit
Netflix is developing a feature film based on Jessica Watson’s sailing memoir “True Spirit”. Sarah Spillane is on board to direct the film about Australian-born Watson who became the youngest person to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around the world in 2009. The sixteen-year-old survived seven knockdowns while at sea for 210 days on a 33-foot vessel. Watson will consult on the biopic. [Source: Variety]
