Notable “Jurassic Park” franchise fan site Jurassic Outpost has reported the rumor that Amblin Television is developing a live-action “Jurassic World” TV series for the upcoming Peacock streaming service.
“Jurassic World: Dominion,” the third and seemingly final film in the trilogy, recently began filming in Vancouver under the helm of Colin Trevorrow. The site claims the series is aiming for a 2021 or 2022 launch and will also film in Vancouver for budgetary reasons.
The story is expected to be set in the same continuity as the movies, and will apparently be executive produced by Trevorrow, Steven Spielberg, and co-presidents of Amblin Television Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Falvey and Frank served as executive producers on shows such as FX’s acclaimed “The Americans” and the currently airing “Amazing Stories” reboot at Apple TV+.
Last year the Trevorrow-directed eight-minute short “Battle at Big Rock” launched online to raves and showed a cost-conscious work set within the film’s continuity could work.
