FX has premiered the official trailer for the 13th season of Ryan Murphy’s “American Horror Story” which returns Thursday, September 24th.
While some suspected the new season was a follow-up to the popular ‘Coven’ season, Murphy says it’s actually many of the previous seasons all coming together.
He tells EW: “It is like ‘The Avengers.’ They all come together to defeat the ultimate evil. So it’s very fun. And as soon as I pitched it to [the actors], many of them had said no over the years, and they were like, ‘Well, OK, we’ve got to come back for that.'”
The result is not just familiar faces but familiar characters with the likes of Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Frances Conroy, Kathy Bates and John Carroll Lynch all making their return.
Also onboard are Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, Paul Anthony Kelly, Mena Suvari and even filmmaker John Waters. As the trailer demonstrates, several of these actors will play multiple past roles.
