“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and “Looper” filmmaker Rian Johnson, riding high on the success of “Knives Out” which has just past $300 million at the box office off a $40 million budget, has been soliciting ideas for a sequel title.
Speaking with Variety this week, Johnson confirmed the film will see Daniel Craig reprising his role of Detective Benoit Blanc, but “other than that, all bets are off. It’s a totally new cast.” As a result, anyone and everyone could be up for the film.
Shortly after that, the official Twitter account for the film started soliciting suggestions for titles which have ranged the gamut from “Blanc Cheque” to BossLogic’s brilliant suggestion – a spooky manor set tale called “Knives Inn”.

Johnson also offered his thoughts on the recent “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” the follow-up to Johnson’s own ‘Last Jedi’. He told MTV News on Sunday: “I had a blast, man. Made me so proud and seeing the heart and soul that JJ put into it. And seeing my friends who were in the movie bring the whole thing to a conclusion. Yeah, for me as a ‘Star Wars’ fan, it was a really special experience.”
