Briarcliff Entertainment has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Mark Williams’ “Honest Thief” with plans for a wide release on Labor Day weekend (September 4th). Liam Neeson plays an infamous bank robber who wants to turn himself in and return stolen money after falling in love with Annie (Kate Walsh).

House of Chow
Viola Davis and Julius Tennon’s JuVee Production is teaming with HBO to develop the comedy “House of Chow” from Ken Cheng (“Wilfred”) who wrote the pilot will also serve as executive producer. Jude Weng helms the pilot.
Based on Cheng’s experiences growing up in a restaurant kitchen, the comedy follows the reluctant partnership that forms between estranged, thirtysomething siblings Vicky and Charlie Chow who try to salvage their disappointing and dysfunctional lives by reviving their family’s old Chinese restaurant. Into Thin Air
Christian Rivers (“Mortal Engines”) has signed on to direct “Into Thin Air” which will explore the unsolved mystery behind the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 in 2014. Jonas McCord (“Malice,” “The Body”) penned the script which follows the efforts of a rogue investigator with a tragic past who teams up with an idealistic young journalist as they uncover a conspiracy. Disney Studios has released two new TV spots for Niki Caro’s live-action adaptation of “Mulan”. The spots follow on from some character posters for the film which also stars Yifei Liu, Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, gong Li and Jet Li co-star in the film opening late March.
