“Prisoners” Writer Pens New “Alien” Film

20th Century Studios

Aaron Guzikowski, the writer of Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed thriller “Prisoners,” has been set to pen a new “Alien” feature film at 20th Century Studios.

The project serves as a reunion between Guzikowski and Ridley Scott, the two previously working together on the sci-fi drama series “Raised by Wolves” for HBO Max.

Guzikowski created that series while Scott executive produced it and directed the first two episodes.

Scott and Michael Pruss will produce the new film, but no director is attached. At this point, Scott is not directing.

One thing that is confirmed is that this will NOT be the sequel to 2024’s “Alien: Romulus,” rather this one is said to relate to Scott’s “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant” films but stops short of calling it a direct sequel.

Michael Fassbender, who played amoral android David in those films, is not attached at this stage.

Guzikowski also penned the “Papillion” remake, created the Jason Momoa-led “Red Road” series, and has multiple film script gigs in the works including an adult-targeted animated feature film based on the “Death Stranding” universe.
