Queen Latifahs Equalizer Ordered To Pilot

The “Equalizer” reboot in the works at CBS is taking the next big step.

CBS has officially ordered the pilot for a reimagining of the classic 1980s CBS series “The Equalizer” with Queen Latifah attached to star and produce.

The original four-season series starred British actor Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, a former covert operations officer for a U.S. intelligence service who tried to atone for his sins by using his extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn.

The property was recently adapted into two films, starring Denzel Washington as McCall, in 2014 and 2018. Latifah now takes on the titular role this time.

Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller will serve as writers, executive producers, and showrunners on the new series, the second high-profile action project CBS is readying for next season with the other being a Sylvester Stallone-produced series starring Dolph Lundgren as a black-ops soldier working for the United Nations.
