Paramount Pictures has scored the worldwide rights to Damien Chazelle’s new film “Babylon,” the director’s first feature project since last year’s “First Man”.
Emma Stone and Brad Pitt are in talks to star but deals have not closed as yet. The story is said to take place during the transition from silent films to talkies and will feature a mix of real-life and fictional characters.
“Babylon” has already been set for a Christmas Day 2021 limited release ahead of a wide January 7th 2022 rollout. Olivia Hamilton, Matt Plouffe, Tobey Maguire and Marc Platt are producing.
Chazelle has most recently been working on the Netflix series “The Eddy” premiering in 2020.
