“Halo: Campaign Evolved,” a full Unreal Engine 5-powered remake of the classic 2001 game “Halo: Combat Evolved,” arrives later this year on PS5, Xbox and PC.
That may not be the end of it, as Rebs Gaming (via VGC) is reporting that they’ve received proof from sources that the entire original “Halo” trilogy is receiving the remake treatment.
The site claims: “One of my new sources sent me proof to verify themself and confirm that the Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes are definitely happening. Active development is underway; they are in early development.”
They claim some elements from those two games, such as Brutes, could be involved in the first game’s remake via a “planned new Skull modifier” .
It’s believed that Halo Studios is also working on multiple “Halo” projects, including the next “Halo” entry following “Halo: Infinite”. All will be developed using Unreal Engine 5 to provide consistency.
No specific release date beyond 2026 has been announced for “Halo: Campaign Evolved”.
The original trilogy, and “Halo Reach,” were developed by Bungie. Both the first and second titles have seen anniversary remasters, both of which are included in “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” on PC and Xbox. Bungie exited the franchise after the release of ‘Reach’.
