The other week came word that the first trailer for Marvel and Sony’s “Morbius” film, starring Jared Leto as the titular vampire, had been rated.
That indicates the first trailer is set to drop any day now, fitting in with the theory that it will arrive with “Bad Boys for Life” opening this coming Friday. More recently it has been reported that the trailer is targeting a 6am US-PST release on Monday.
Now a new photo, said to be a screenshot from said trailer, has gone online and seems to reveal the first look at Leto doing the character’s full Living Vampire look.
The original post went online on social media and whilst now deleted, it’s out in the wild enough it’s not hard to find. It’s still not clear if the image is authentic, but reaction to the photo in Reddit and other social media comments has been quite positive and like that it’s sticking with the comics.
Leto stars in the film as Michael Morbius, a scientist suffering from a rare blood disorder. Desperate to cure himself, he undergoes a radical experiment that transforms him into a living vampire before deciding to use his new abilities to become a nocturnal superhero.
Daniel Espinosa helms the film which also stars Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Tyrese Gibson and Jared Harris. It opens July 31st.
