McAdams Won’t Return For “Strange” Sequel

Mcadams Wont Return For Strange Sequel

In the wake of yesterday’s report that Marvel Studios is in talks with Sam Raimi to helm “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” Variety has reported that actress Rachel McAdams will not be returning for the follow-up.

McAdams portrayed Dr. Christine Palmer, a former flame and now colleague of Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). She tried to help him deal with his injuries in early scenes.

Later, once he’s a sorcerer, Strange revisited Christine and the pair reconciled before parting ways. Two of the more mystical side characters – Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Baron Mordo and Benedict Wong’s Wong, are both expected to return.

Also joining them is Elizabeth Olsen who will reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. It’s expected both the “WandaVision” and “Loki” TV series for Disney+ will tie into the upcoming film.
