Jack Lowden (“Slow Horses”), Josh O’Connor (“Disclosure Day”), Callum Turner (“One Night Only”) and at least one unknown name are all said to have made the final round of candidates to take on the role of James Bond.
THR reports that according to multiple sources, the three names and at least 1-2 others are in the mix for screen tests, which are taking place in London primarily this weekend – some potentially happening tomorrow.
The same report says that previously rumored names like Jack O’Connell and Jacob Elordi are no longer in the running and won’t be testing, despite several reports in the last 24 hours highlighting Elordi as a serious candidate.
The screen tests are said to be comprehensive with stunts, camera presence and dialogue all being tested.
Twenty years ago the final round of screen tests for the role of Bond in “Casino Royale” reportedly came down to Daniel Craig, Henry Cavill and Sam Worthington with Craig ultimately victorious.
Denis Villeneuve is directing the new Bond outing, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman producing for Amazon MGM Studios.
