Marvel Studios unveiled a pretty impressive ensemble cast at San Diego Comic Con for its “Eternals” film, and then at D23 added the announcement of Kit Harington joining the cast as Black Knight.
However according to one of those cast members, Harington’s old “Game of Thrones” co-star Richard Madden who plays Ikaris, there are still a bunch of names that have yet to be announced playing other members of the race of immortal god-like beings.
GQ recently caught up with Madden who talked about the line-up of talent they’ve already announced including Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Barry Keoghan, Brian Tyree Henry and Gemma Chan. Madden says:
“I always get starstruck, yeah, and there’s some more actors yet to be announced in that lineup which is gonna be crazy.”
Casting breakdowns for the film from a while back suggests some of these mystery characters will include Eros/Starfox and Zuras, along with potentially Hercules. The film is confirmed to include Marvel’s first LGBT superhero and of that Madden tells ET Online:
“I think it’s hugely important, just the cast is so diverse. I’m a white male actor and not in the majority of this cast. I’m the minority, which is important in terms of diversity in filmmaking. I think Marvel are really at the forefront of that.”
Chloe Zhao helms the film which is slated to be released November 6th 2020.
