Samara Weaving has joined the growing cast of Olivia Wilde’s holiday comedy “Naughty” at Universal Pictures.
The quickly growing call sheet includes Jennifer Aniston, Peter Dinklage, Chase Sui Wonders, Regina Hall and Ike Barinholtz.
Jimmy Warden penned the spec script about a mother (Aniston), whose only hope of securing custody of her son from her gaslighting trash-bag ex-husband (Barinholtz) is to find Santa Claus (Peter Dinklage) and convince him to testify in her divorce hearing.
Wonders and Hall are playing the woman’s best friends in a story dubbed “Bridesmaids in the North Pole”. Weaving will play Barinholtz’s mistress.
Wilde is directing the feature as her follow-up to the highly acclaimed relationship comedy “The Invite” at A24. Wilde, Warden, Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley and Josey McNamara will produce.
Universal has already locked in “Naughty” to a November 5th 2027 release. It’s expected Weaving will shoot this before getting to work on Marvel’s new “X-Men” film next Spring/Summer.
