The CW network has made a couple of announcements today, starting with “Anaconda” set to serve as the title for the upcoming “The 100” prequel spin-off series.
The network officially greenlit a backdoor pilot to the planned series which will air as part of the seventh and final season of “The 100”. The prequel show will be set a century earlier, opening in the immediate aftermath of the devastating nuclear apocalypse that consumed Earth and following a band of survivors in this environment.
Next, the network says it will not proceed with its proposed one-hour followup series to the 2006 half-hour comedy “The Game”. Network higher-ups opted not to move forward with the CBS TV Studios-produced project in its current form but were open to redeveloping it – however the producers declined that offer.
Finally they’ve ordered pilots for the dramas “Kung Fu” and “The Republic of Sarah” which were previously set up at different networks prior to coming to CW.
