Two acclaimed authors have come onboard the “Sense8 Special,” the upcoming two-hour episode which will finish off the cult Netflix series.
Initially cancelled following the release of the second season, fan outcry led Netflix to reverse that decision and produce a two-hour finale. In a social media posting, actor Miguel Angel Silvestre (who plays Lito) showed off the script he’d received for the episode.
What’s especially interesting is that the script credits three writers – show co-creator Lana J. Wachowski, “Cloud Atlas” author David Mitchell, and MacArthur grant-winning Bosnian writer Aleksandar Hemon (“Nowhere Man”).
Mitchell’s “Cloud Atlas” became a Wachowski film, while Hamon wrote an acclaimed New Yorker piece in 2012 about Lana’s coming-out as a trans woman.
The photo also indicates the story will include at least four locations – Berlin, Brussels, Paris and Naples.
Toby Onwumere, Tina Desai, Jamie Clayton, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, Brian J. Smith and Max Riemelt are all slated to reunite so their characters can put a stop to Mr. Whispers’ evil corporation attempting to hunt all the Sensates down.
The special is slated to screen in 2018.
