The Viola Davis-led thriller Paramount+ TV series “Ascent,” set in the world of global corporate crisis and damage control, is casting up with some big names.
“Outlander” star Sam Heughan and “Weapons” Oscar winner Amy Madigan have boarded the series created by John Logan (“Penny Dreadful,” “Michael,” “Skyfall”).
Davis plays Catriona, an elite corporate fixer tasked with weaponising the ruthless skills that have made her indispensable to billion-dollar clients when her estranged daughter is in danger.
Heughan plays Conal, a top agent at Ascent Ventures, a man dubbed a lethally charming and natural chameleon who uses social cunning and ruthlessness to get the job done.
Madigan plays Rachel, a former executive at Ascent Ventures and lifelong mentor to Davis’s Catriona.
Davis and Julius Tennon are executive producing the show alongside Michael Aguilar. Filming begins in Los Angeles early next year.
