Melanie Lynskey (“Heavenly Creatures,” “Togetherness”) has scored the female lead role in Hulu’s “Castle Rock” series inspired by the works of Stephen King.
Lynskey will portray a woman named Molly Strand, who suffers from a rare medical condition and is having a hard time as a real estate agent in a town where many of the properties play host to horrifying nightmares.
Jane Levy, Andre Holland and Sissy Spacek are also set to star in the psychological-horror series which will unite the entire King canon. Lynskey has experience with the author, having starred in the mini-series “Rose Red” which was King’s take on both “The Haunting” and the real-life Winchester Mystery House.
Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television are producing the series which J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer will executive produce.
