Making headlines for animal abuse allegations earlier this year, the dog reincarnation family film “A Dog’s Purpose” has proven something of a quiet achiever despite the critics dubbing it a woofer.
Boasting only a modest budget, the film has pulled in $64 million domestic, and another $128 million overseas – with $88 million of that coming from China alone.
As a result, “A Dog’s Purpose 2” is in the works with Amblin Entertainment developing the project and keeping a Chinese audience in mind. No word if director Lasse Hallstrom will be a good boy and return.
