He was rumoured, then in negotiations, now Russell Crowe has reportedly signed on to play Noah in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming biblical epic about the prophet at Regency/Paramount says Deadline.
So far no other cast has yet been locked for this re-telling of the tale of Noah’s Ark, though Liam Neeson has previously been mentioned for a small role. An official statement about Crowe is expected from the studio early next week.
The project, which marks Aronofsky’s first film since “Black Swan”, will begin shooting in July.
