MTV has greenlit a pilot for a TV series based on the successful horror film franchise “Scream” from Dimension Films.
MTV and Dimension Films are in discussions with various writers for the series which would be slated for a summer 2014 premiere
Wes Craven is in discussions to direct the one-hour pilot, but series scribe Kevin Williamson isn’t involved.
“Scream” will be just one of several new series joining MTV’s slate – the others include “Generation Cryo,” “Nurse Nation” and “The Hook Up”.
