Paramount and MGM are teaming to co-produce and distribute the upcoming remake of “Ben-Hur”.
The new adaptation of Lew Wallace’s 1880 novel follows a falsely accused nobleman who survives years of slavery to take vengeance on his best friend who betrayed him.
“Wanted” helmer Timur Bekmambetov is directing from a script originally penned by Keith Clarke and which is now being worked on by John Ridley (“12 Years a Slave”).
Paramount and MGM have been teaming up a lot lately on films like “GI Joe: Retaliation” and the upcoming “Hercules” and “Hot Tub Time Machine 2”.
