Steven Yeun (“The Walking Dead”) and Felicia Day (“Supernatural”) are set to lend their voices to the animated feature adaptation of the popular comic “Chew” which is expected to get a digital broadcast and home entertainment release.
The story centers on a detective who is a “cibopath,” a person who gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It is also set in a world where bird meats are illegal after bird flu killed millions of Americans.
Yeun is voicing the detective, Tony Chu. Day is voicing his love interest, a food critic who can write about food so precisely the reader actually feels like they are tasting it.
Jeff Krelitz (“Torchwood: Web of Lies”) is directing the project from a script by John Layman. Krelitz and David Boxenbaum are producing.
