Sony is fast-tracking the third instalment in “The Smurfs” franchise, but they’re taking a bold step – and going completely animated.
The two previous films were live action/animated hybrids, but the new one will be entirely computer animated. The second film opened last year to a much softer $347.5 million than the $563.7 million haul of the first film.
There’s no word on a release date as yet but if it’s moving quickly a Summer 2015 bow may be possible.
