HBO has finally confirmed that Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly will join Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in the eight-episode second season of HBO’s “True Detective”.
The story centers on three police officers and a career criminal who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder. Justin Lin will direct the first two episodes and production has officially begun in California.
Farrell plays compromised detective Ray Velcoro torn between a corrupt police department and a mobster who owns him. Vaughn is crime kingpin Frank Semyon whose attempts to go legit are wrecked by the murder of a business partner. Reilly is Jordan, Frank’s wife and business partner who is also a former D-list actress.
McAdams is the uncompromising Ventura County Sheriff detective Ani Bezzerides who butts heads with others in the system. Kitsch is Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer for running from a difficult past.
Finally, the likes of Michael Hyatt, Yara Martinez, Adria Arjona and Riley Smith have all recently been linked to supporting roles in the series.
