DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has confirmed that his upcoming “Superman” follow-up “Man of Tomorrow” won’t be getting a teaser trailer before the year is out.
Rumors have been swirling for a little while that the first trailer for the feature opening next Summer would be attached to copies of “Dune: Part Three” in cinemas this December.
Responding to a post sourcing BeyondReporter about the trailer being expected with Dune, Gunn said on Threads: “Expected by whom???”. When a fan challenged “james hating fans being hyped once again,” Gunn responded: “More like James not wanting people to be disappointed when there’s no trailer in December.”
In the same thread, he also shot down every current report about Batman actors under consideration, saying: “No one is in the running. We haven’t started casting yet.”
With “The Suicide Squad” now considered canon, Gunn also says the line about Bloodsport (Idris Elba) shooting Superman with a kryptonite bullet “will be answered”.
“Man of Tomorrow” will see Superman forced to team up with Lex Luthor to battle Brainiac, a threat not just to Metropolis but to the entire world.
The cast includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag, Sr., Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl.
“Man of Tomorrow” arrives in cinemas on July 9th 2027.
