“The Devils” Cinema Run Extended Indefinitely

Warner Bros. Pictures

What was to be an exclusive one-week run of the Director’s Cut of Ken Russell’s 1971 film “The Devils” has now been extended… indefinitely.

Warner Bros. Clockwork released the unseen version of the infamously controversial feature on October 16th for one week before extending that out to two weeks due to popular demand.

With that two week mark up and business not slowing, Warners is now keeping it going in cinemas. They add: “If it’s not playing near you, call your local theater and demand it.”

The limited release has generated $3.3 million in ticket sales – an impressive feat for a 55-year-old NC-17 rated feature.

The 4K restoration and release of this definitive cut has generated a ton of chatter on social media, from thirst tweets over Oliver Reed’s hair or the wild looks of some of the film’s villains, to people posting reactions to the film.

Check out a newly made poster announcing the extension of the film’s release.
