Diane Morgan’s iconic creation Philomena Cunk is back.
Netflix has premiered the trailer for “Cunk on Cinema,” a three-part mockumentary comedy series starring Morgan as her iconic, deadpan character.
Created by Charlie Brooker (“Black Mirror”) and directed by Al Campbell, the series explores the history of the cinematic form.
Cunk will be asking experts all of the hard-hitting questions about the history of cinema, from the invention of the camera, to the New Wave filmmakers of the 60s, right up to the advent of CGI and what the future of AI holds.
Cunk will “attempt to demystify it all while sitting in lumpy seats with stale popcorn, asking herself where did cinema come from? And why? What does it want? And why can’t it tell us?”
As usual, she interviews real-life industry experts and high-profile figures which include director Michael Bay, actor Benedict Cumberbatch, writer Steven E. de Souza, critic/historian Mark Kermode, composer Daniel Pemberton, cinematographer Seamus McGarvey and more.
The series premieres in the UK on November 12th via iPlayer and then worldwide on Netflix on November 15th.
