First Trailer: “Way of the Warrior Kid”

Apple has premiered the first trailer for McG’s “Way of The Warrior Kid,” a film adaptation of the Jock Willink novel and starring Chris Pratt.

Middle school has been a nightmare for Marc, a good but self-doubting 11-year-old boy who is bullied and feels behind in everything.

That changes when his Uncle Jake, an injured and decorated Navy SEAL, comes to spend the summer after being injured on a mission.

To help Marc defend himself, Jake devises an ambitious program called “Operation Warrior Kid” based on his SEAL training to teach his nephew what real courage is and how to face down his own demons.

Willink is a retired Navy SEAL who found a second career as podcast host, author and motivational speaker who helps guide adults to finding their better selves.

Pratt previously said in a statement: “I have faith this film will help to shape today’s youth, putting them on the right path. Our young people need this movie… I hope this story will help bridge the growing divide and inspire the next generation to learn valuable lessons about discipline, self-reliance, strength, and compassion.”

Linda Cardinelli, Jocko Willink, Jude Hill and Levi McConaughey co-star. Will Staples (“Without Remorse”) pens the adaptation while Ben Everard, McG, Mary Viola, Willink and Pratt produce.

“Way of the Warrior Kid” premieres on Apple TV on November 25th.
