Vincent D’Onofrio and Kate Mara have scored regular roles, Clancy Brown and Thomas Sadoski will recur, while Jason Schwartzman will guest star in the new Oscar Isaac-led Netflix eight-episode drama series “The Roman”.
The five additions join the previously announced Betty Gilpin, Alec Baldwin, David Costabile, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Jimmy O. Yang.
The hour-long drama is set in the present-day Las Vegas casino business. Isaac plays Bobby Red, president of the hottest hotel casino in town, who is aiming to expand his business however he can.
D’Onofrio will play powerful MMA mogul Dominic Ward, Mara will play high-powered madam Holly Reeve, Brown will play veteran enforcer Elwood, Sadoski will play a self-destructive superstar chef, and Schwartzman will play a debt-laden scion.
The series hails from “Billions” creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien while filmmaker JC Chandor, who worked with Isaac on “Triple Frontier,” will direct the first two episodes and executive produce.
Isaac, Martin Scorsese, Julie Yorn, Paul Schiff, Beth Schacter and Rick Yorn also executive produce.
