Famke Janssen On Marvel’s “Avengers” Mistake

20th Century Studios

While a number of the cast members of the original “X-Men” films appear in Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Doomsday,” there are two very notable absentees – Halle Berry’s Storm and Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix.

Both actresses have made it clear they’re not appearing in the film, with Berry famously seemingly not that fussed about missing out. In a new interview, Janssen says Marvel “made a mistake” not bringing her back.

Back in November, the “Goldeneye” actress confirmed she had “never ever” heard from Disney about potentially reprising her role for some MCU project. She says that in almost every interview she does, the question of returning to the character will come up.

Now, speaking with Nerdtropolis recently, she says it’s shame Marvel didn’t bring her back:

“I am so bad at keeping secrets that I always say to everyone I’m the worst actor in the world. It’s all on my face. You right away will read it. I think they made a mistake, but hey, who am I? I’m just a little me who thinks that.”

Then asked if she still has some of Phoenix left in her and would be ready for another installment, she says: “Oh, yes. I am ready. I am ready to show you some Phoenix, some very dark Phoenix.”

Janssen last appeared as Jean Grey in “X-Men: Days of Future Past” in 2014. A new Jean Grey is rumored to appear in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
