Apple TV has unveiled the first look at the sixth season of its Emmy- and BAFTA Award-winning espionage drama “Slow Horses,” and officially announced a September 16th season premiere date.
Five photos, and a brief 25-second teaser trailer, have all been released by the streamer and can be seen below. The new season sees the Slow Horses on the run as Diana Taverner embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.
Sir Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Christopher Chung, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving all return while Lenny Rush joins the cast.
In a key change from past seasons, the sixth season is set to adapt not one but two of Mick Herron’s Slough House novels – the sixth and seventh novels “Joe Country” and “Slough House”.
Despite the doubling of source material, the series is still running for a standard six-episode run. The new season will also mark the first without former writer/executive producer Will Smith who has handed over the reins to Gaby Chiappe.
Adam Randall, who helmed the fourth season, returns to direct the sixth season, which will run through until October 21st.
