Marvel Studios unveiled “The Punisher: One Last Kill” less than 24 hours ago, and while mostly well-received by both critics and audiences, a problem has quickly emerged.
THR reports that the Special Presentation one-off has been impacted by an audio mixing issue, resulting in low dialogue that seems to be emerging from the wrong speakers for those on surround sound systems.
The streamer has acknowledged the issue, replying to several fans on X on Wednesday, saying:
“Thank you for reaching out and letting us know you’re experiencing no audio while watching The Punisher: One Last Kill. The good news is that our team knows about this particular issue and is working on a solution as we speak. Let us know if we can help with anything else!”
That’s not all. A key stunt in the film seemed to use an unfinished VFX shot, one in which Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is pushed out of a building and falls on a silver crate.
That has been subject to ridicule in the past 24 hours, calling it bad CG. According to the trade, it was a real in-camera shot with Bernthal performing the beginning of the fall and his stuntman taking over for the rest – some VFX then being employed to blend the footage.
“The Punisher: One Last Kill” is now up on the Disney+ service.
