EON, MGM, United Artists

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, one of the most beloved James Bond films is returning to cinemas – Pierce Brosnan’s first 007 outing “GoldenEye” will be back on the big screen worldwide in 4K on Friday, October 3rd.

Martin Campbell directed the 1995 film in which a powerful satellite-based EMP weapon system called GoldenEye falls into the hands of Alec Trevelyan (Sean Bean), the former Agent 006, who was presumed dead.

Only James Bond (Pierce Brosnan), and a Russian techie named Natalya Simonova (Izabella Scorupco) can save the world from an awesome space weapon that could send civilization back to the Stone Age.

Bond must not only square off against his former compatriot, but also his ally Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) who can squeeze men to death with her thighs.

Dame Judi Dench, Alan Cumming, Gottfried John, Robbie Coltrane, Joe Don Baker, Samantha Bond, Tcheky Karyo, Michael Kitchen and Minnie Driver co-star.

Upon its original release, the film grossed $356.4 million from a $60 million budget. It also marked the first Bond film made after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War.
