John Boyega (“Star Wars: The Last Jedi”), Anna Sawai (“Shogun”), John Cho (“Star Trek”), Willow Smith (“I Am Legend”) and Teyana Taylor (“One Battle After Another” are all set to join Scott ‘Kid Cudi Mescudi in the animated feature “Slime” at Hammerstone Studios, Mad Solar and Capstone Pictures.
Sundance prize-winning animator-director Jeron Braxton helms the film which is set in a too-near future and is drscribed as an “anime-inspired pre-apocalyptic sci-fi monster flick with retro video-game aesthetics.”
It follows Muna (Smith), an optimistic but broke young woman who signs up for a paid clinical trial. She’s injected with a mysterious creature’s slime that unleashes destructive powers she can’t control.
On the run, she kidnaps Glenn (Mescudi), the lab worker who injected her, and the two set out on a perilous odyssey through a crumbling dystopian world in search of refuge and a cure.
But as the clock runs out, is Muna transforming into humanity’s worst nightmare or its last, unlikely savior? Character details for the others are under wraps but voice recordings begin next month.
Kid Cudi will provide the score and soundtrack fo the film Brian Ash wrote the script. Alex Lebovici, Mescudi, Karina Manashil, Smith, and Aaron Bergman are producing with Folks VFX providing the animation.
