“Daryl Dixon” To End With Season 4

AMC

AMC confirmed at Comic-Con today that it has renewed its “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” series for a fourth and final season.

Filming on the eight-episode final run is slated to begin shortly in Madrid and other Spanish locations with series leads Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride set to play their roles one last time.

In addition, it was announced that the third season will premiere September 7th and will follow Daryl and Carol in Spain. Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada and Alexandra Masangkay also star in the third season run.

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, said in a statement:

“Across two extraordinary series spanning almost two decades, Norman and Melissa have given life to two of the most iconic characters in the history of television. Daryl and Carol have taken fans on an unforgettable and intensely human journey of challenge, survival, hope and friendship, and the response from fans, from the very first moments of The Walking Dead, has been remarkable. We can’t wait to share the upcoming third season of Daryl this fall and to begin production on this fourth and final season in Spain.”

Reedus and McBride were in attendance at the panel alongside showrunner David Zabel and executive producers Scott M. Gimple and Greg Nicotero.
