“Squid Game” S3 Sets Netflix Debut Record

Netflix

Netflix premiered the third and final season of “Squid Game” on Friday and while the reviews have been tepid, the audience figures have been anything but.

The new season reportedly pulled in 60.1 million views worldwide in its opening weekend (June 27th-29th), the largest three-day tally Netflix has ever recorded internally.

The second season had a higher opening week at 68 million views, but that was spread over four days – not three.

Both seasons also made Netflix’s All-Time Top 10 for non-English language shows by the end of their first week, a feat no other show has managed.

The third season also ranked No. 1 for the week of June 23-29 in every country that Netflix tracks, a first for of the streamer.

The first season of “Squid Game” remains Netflix’s most watched series to date with 265.2 million views over its first three months of release, with the second season in second with 192.6 million views over the same time period.
