Netflix is firming up its release schedule. and it looks like some TV series that fans were hoping to launch later in the year won’t be making the cut in 2025.
Netflix’s 2025 TV slate is confirmed to include the final seasons of “Squid Game,” “You,” “Cobra Kai” and “Stranger Things” along with new seasons of “Wednesday,” “The Diplomat,” “The Witcher,” “Fubar,” “Emily In Paris,” “Black Mirror,” “Alice in Borderland,” “The Sandman,” “Monster: Ed Gein” and John Mulaney’s talk show amongst others.
There are some very notable absences that are expected to debut in 2026 now. This includes the second seasons of their live-action “One Piece” and “Avatar: The Last Airbender” series as well as the acclaimed “Beef,” Guy Ritchie’s “The Gentlemen” series spin-off, spy thriller “Black Doves” and the sci-fi epic “3 Body Problem” among others.
Also likely not hitting until 2026 are the new seasons of “Virgin River,” “The Lincoln Lawyer” and the final season of “Outer Banks”. Some titles could undergo last minute shifts and make the final quarter, but the more likely scenario is they will almost all be held until 2026.
The list of those who made it can be found at the end of a nearly three-minute trailer promoting the service and their line-up for this year.
Check out that trailer below which puts a heavy focus on “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game,” “Wednesday,” “The Witcher,” “Cobra Kai,” and “Emily in Paris” as their big hitters for the year along with films like “Happy Gilmore 2.
