“Wonder Woman 3” Is NOT In The Works

Warner Bros. Pictures

Despite reports the other week to the contrary, a third “Wonder Woman” film is NOT in the works at Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios.

Gadot first suggested a new film might be alive after she gave a pre-strike interview to ComicBook.com whilst promoting “Heart of Stone”.

She said at the time: “I love portraying Wonder Woman. It’s so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we’re gonna develop a ‘Wonder Woman 3’ together.”

She then doubled down on that in a Flaunt magazine interview, saying:

“I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran, and what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman – you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.”

Now, sources for Variety are saying a third “Wonder Woman” is not in development at DC Studios, and Gunn and Safran have no plans at this time for it.

They add the only Wonder Woman-themed project in the new DC Universe is the previously announced “Paradise Lost” prequel series at Max.

In addition, nothing was ever promised to Gadot regarding “Wonder Woman 3,” nor was there any “definitive discussion” of Gadot’s Wonder Woman continuing with the new DC Universe.

Gadot and Patty Jenkins were developing “Wonder Woman 3” together before Gunn and Safran were named the new heads of DC Studios. In December, Jenkins publicly exited the project.
