The first photo has been released of Andrew Scott (“Fleabag,” “Sherlock”) and Paul Mescal (“Normal People,” “Aftersun”) in “All of Us Strangers”.
The project marks the latest film from acclaimed filmmaker Andrew Haigh who helmed “Weekend,” Oscar nominee “45 Years” and “Lean on Pete”.
Claire Foy (“The Crown”) and Jamie Bell (“Rocketman”) also star in the project, which Haigh will direct and has adapted from Taichi Yamada’s award-winning novel.
The story follows screenwriter Adam (Scott) who, one night in his near-empty London tower block, has a chance encounter with mysterious neighbor Harry (Mescal).
As they get closer, Adam is suddenly pulled back to his childhood home, where he discovers that his long-dead parents (Foy and Bell) are both living and look the same age as the day they died over thirty years ago.
Searchlight Pictures, Film4 and Blueprint Pictures are backing the project, which Graham Broadbent, Sarah Harvey and Pete Czernin are producing.
A release date plan hasn’t been set as yet. Haigh most recently directed the Colin Farrell and Jack O’Connell-led Arctic whaling drama mini-series “The North Water”.
Mescal has most recently been filming the lead role in Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator 2” whilst Scott will soon be seen playing Patricia Highsmith’s famed serial killer character Tom Ripley in an Amazon original series.
