Following the poster premiere last week, Marvel Studios has now unveiled the first trailer for the second season of the “Loki” series ahead of the show’s return on Disney+ on October 6th.
The new run picks up in the aftermath of the first season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority.
Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.
The new season sees the return of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Owen Wilson as Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Judge Renslayer, and Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15.
In addition, Ke Huy Quan, Rafael Casal and Kate Dickie are also set to appear, whilst Jonathan Majors will appear in multiple episodes as Kang variants.
The new season also hails from head writer and executive producer Eric Martin and is directed by “Moon Knight” helmers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
They replace head writer Michael Waldron and director Kate Herron from the first season, with both still remaining on the second season as producers.
The first season remains the most viewed of the various Marvel Studios shows and one of its best-received.
